Restoration: The Waterloo Needle

Over the past few months, Construction and Restoration Company Van de Burgt & Strooij has been carrying out maintenance work on the Waterloo Needle. The first step was to completely clean the Waterloo Needle. The mortar joints on the sandstone pylon were then repaired, after which the pylon was treated with beeswax to reduce moisture penetration into the natural stone.

Major maintenance starts at Soestdijk Palace

Major maintenance begins at Soestdijk Palace: Construction and restoration company Van de Burgt & Strooij has been appointed as the main contractor. Soestdijk Palace is preparing for the future. Maintenance work on the facade and roofs of the iconic monument will begin in mid-September 2025. The restoration and renovation of the Palace is expected to begin in mid-September 2026.
